i glanced at the Mets/Reds game and noticed that even with this years top pitcher on the mound, a lot of the fans at CitiField came disguised as emptty seats. maybe the magic of compter enhanced graphics should be employed to fill in those empty seats. frankly it’s an embarrassment to play these games in front of an empty house. special audio effects woukd have to be utilized as well, to make it seem as if there is an enthuastic audience also. The Met team seems as listless as the vacant seats as well.
one way to generate some attendance would be that after every losing effort. front office would be the targets of a pie throwing contest. to participate, a random selection would be made AFTER the game. think how much fun it woud be to cover the Wilpons in!! rancid cream pies!
well our Mets didn’t lose yesterday. the main reason, of course, is that they didn’t play. if we’re lucky, this non-losing streak will continue today. the weather will have to cooperate well by having the skies open up and rain like heck, as it did on Thursday.
foxster: the streak continues! TC pulling Hefner out at a time when he was really pitching well, so he might get the win and “feel good about himself” is one of the dopiest things I’ve heard from TC so far this year. And I’ve heard plenty. I’ve seen enough: a couple of moves are in order after the weekend. 1) Duda to first, Ike to the 51s. 2) Wally to Skip, TC to UI (unemployment insurance). Maybe Gee could begin the suspended game, too. That way he might pick up two losses on the afternoon.
I’m back for a cameo appearance just to see if Met fans are still saying really stupid things.
Yep, thanks to The Dude etc. etc., we have a REALLY dumb, typical Met fan thing…
And it is….”Wally to Skip”
Yes, that will fix everything…just bring in the heavy drinking redneck to see if he can get Youngblood, Maz, Henderson, Flynn, and Zachar - I mean, Wright, Ike, Duda et. al. to play beyond their mediocrity.
The only thing that will save this team is new ownership. If you love the Mets, you boycott and just stay away until Fred and Jeff sell. Calling for Wally Backman as a solution to this travesty is silly, short-sighted, and futile.
Think big - hurt Fred in the only place he cares about - his wallet - or this utter destruction of the franchise will continue.
nomore: Never said it would fix anything. I agree with you about the ownership, actually. I just think that it’s also time to stop pretending that Ike, Duda and Tejada are the answers on the field, or even that Terry is the answer in the clubhouse.
Can you belie it? a three game “get out the broom” series against the DamnYankees. this reminds me of 1963, when i returned home afer two years army service to find the (LA) Dodgers playing the Yankees in the World Series. OK, it wasn’t exactly a “Subway Series”, but the (LA) Dogers swept the DamnYankees, 4 games to zero. a small amount of payback for the years of frustration and being “treated” to seeing the site of Ebbets Field, now “The Ebbets Field Apartments” that was like rubbing salt into the wounds inflicted by Walter O”Malley and his quest for bucks flight west to California. i know we’re a Mets Fan-Site, but it’s called “THE BROOKLYN MET’S FAN’ isn’t it?
