J.E.T.S.

Yeah that’s a football reference but ” Just End The Season ” ┬áis too perfect not to apply here.

A 16-1 loss to Philly? 7 runs allowed in the 9th? Hefner, Familia, Edgin and Mejia all ranging from awful to not good.

Now that Harvey is shut down what is there to even watch this team for?

It’s time we begin the hot stove season… not like anything major will happen there but it can’t possibly be worse than 7 runs in the 9th to bury us by 15 runs.

Disgusting.

Citi is a Morgue! Team sucked! I’ve said this couple days ago, they should start playing @ toms river instead of Citi( at least parking & food be cheap), this team really stink! Can’t hit, can’t pitch( aside from dickey & Harvey & maybe 1 or 2 more)!

i’m sorry to have to say this, but it’s more then “disgusting”. as William Bendix as Chester A. Riley used say in moments of distress “WHAT A REVOLTING DEVELOPEMENT THIS IS”

Dickey still has shot at 20 wins and the Cy. He’s worth watching. And from these ashes the Phoenix, er, Mets will rise!

Pass the Elavil, BJake, I could use some about now. Cos it doesn’t get much uglier than right now. I’d like to see some FIRE against Miami, as they fight to stay out of the basement, as I didn’t see any against the Phils.

Are you guys kidding me! We still have “The battle of the basement”

We have a 1/2 game lead and Bertha is warming up!

So I was out drinking last night, did we actually win and score more than 3 runs?

In a general kind of way, that is.

Which is a heck of a lot better than a few days ago, when I wanted the surgeon general to place a warning Mets tickets.

Can someone do some Torres Vs pagan analysis? Nice trade Sandy. This organization makes me sick year after year.

  14. OptimistBlondiesJake Says:

Torres - bad, dumb, no-hit CF
Pagan - mediocre, dumb as a box of rocks, good hit, oft-injured CF
The big part of the deal was getting Ramirez for the bullpen, unfortunately he left his ability to get people out in SF.

I’m so often negative but wonder if I’m the only person who thinks this season hasn’t been a waste. And I still say this team is two legit power OF bats (at least one RH) from winning the Wild Card in 2013.

The Mets got their no-hitter. So the season wasn’t a waste.

It was really a season in two parts - split perfectly by the All Star game. First half - Mets over .500, crazy two out production, Johan immortality on June 1st, consecutive one hitters by Dickey who becomes one of the biggest stories in baseball. It was never really sustainable but you were allowed to think that it could be one of those years. Or that they could play .500ish ball and keep things interesting into early September.

But then the freefall of all freefalls. Twice as inexplicable as the good first half was. Followed by the team basically quitting. The last two months actually have been a waste with the single exception of seeing Harvey’s potential.
