BMF Backs Emaus

Its awfully early to start picking favorites for open positions but I gotta say I find myself rooting for Brad Emaus to win the second base job.

I used to love Murphy but he feels like yesterday’s news to me.

I even defended Castillo and his contract well beyond almost any other Met fan — but no more.

Right now I love the idea of Riccardi grabbing a kid out of Toronto’s system and next thing we know he’s starting for the Mets. Sorta illustrates how our ex GM’s inability to stock our own system.

I’m just diggin’ the idea of a big kid at second base who can thump a little. We don’t necessarily need speed at second - we’ve might have a lot of SB’s out of Reyes, Pagan, Wright and Beltran (in that order).

Of course this may all change after as little as 1 spring training game but right now I’m rooting for Brad Emaus.

Now does anyone know how to pronounce his name??!?

Isn’t Murphy a big kid who can thump a little?

Sure but Murphy has no position .. still can’t believe he’s not with an AL team as a DH..

Wow , this is the big news out of our camp? Brad Emaus (love a 5 letter name with 3 vowels!)

And if one person writes that “Ollie Perez looks good” story I will flip or disregard it like I did Sid Fernandez stories about him coming to camp “in shape.”

E-Mouse….start your poll now for a nickname, I like Emu as in the New Zealand bird.

He’s looked good, but so has Hu who hasn’t looked good with the bat.

Collins wants an offensive player there,so I can see a platoon of Murf and Mick E Mause there.

Lawdy, all these changes, the other NL east teams won’t know what to make of us! Scouts will be busy…

I thought it was “ee-may-us,” like the town in PA.

I don’t care how you say it as long as he hits .300!

Went down to the intrasquad game yesterday!

Opening Day is Today!!!…How long has it been since Bobby Cox hasn’t been in the Braves dugout? I can’t even remember the manager before him!

    Let the Games begin!!!…Wooo!!…Hoo!!

Yeah! So psyched to actually see some live baseball. We’ve been playing the 11 The Show demo and that’s really really good (for an early build demo; can’t wait for the retail version!), but it’s not the real thing.

I think I’ll get behind Murphy during ST, but it’s great to see so much COMPETITION for the spot! Bump up everybody’s game, all year.

The guy I might get behind the most believe it or not is Willie Harris Maris… Now that he’s on our side, the fans might like his style, and he might be our Endy 2.0, just what the fans need!

    A 5 to 5 Tie!!!

There are no ties in basball!!!

Unless irs the All Star Game!

  9. Florida Met Fan Rich Says:

Don’t look now but Castillio got the first Met hit of the year!

The fans had a great time at the game yesterday. The “Hu” jokes and cheers were at an all time high!

Passing on the game today (Michigan) and heading down to see the Nats tomorrow. Bryce Harper (Nats 10 million dollar # 1 pick) is going to get his major league at bat!

i watched parts of Saturday’s game and even with the homers, i just felt blah about baseball. i used to look foward to the Mets start each season, but i cannot seem to generate the same enthusiasm i once did. i hope that the old feelings i had about the Mets soon surface. the past few seasons have taken the wind out of my sails. Baseball is the only sport i’ve ever taken an interest in. the only period where i didn’t follow it was when the Brooklyn Dodgers were ripped out of Brooklyn. i lost interest completely. i recall the DamnYankees getting trimmed in 1960. when i was discharged from my Army Service in 1963, the La (?) Dodgers swept the DamnYankees, which pleased me, as there were still some old friends on the team. the Mets were up and running in 62, but it took a few season before i was hooked again.

can anyone honestly say the Mets have improved themselves over the past few seasons? the Phils certainly have, but with the constant proverty cries of the Mets upper management, i expect them to play their games in tatterered uniforms, using salvaged balls and cracked bats. perhaps they’ll be the suprise team of 2011, but that would be thje biggest surprise of all.

    anyway, LET’S GO METS!
