A New Way to Lose
Sometimes when your season has gone into the toilet it’s fun to see what new ways to lose the current team can discover.
A walk-off 3 run blast after almost 9 innings of shut out baseball qualifies as a new way to lose.
Now we’re 16.5 games out of first… which all of us old skol Met fans will readily admit is just about where they belong.

as i’ve oft said “being a Mets fan is akin to hitting yourself in the head with a hammer, because it feels so good when you stop.

I apologize for being repetitive and bringing this up again, but before the Attack on Alderson for the bullpen, I want somebody to list the top bullpen arms that were available and widely expected to be very good this season that actually ended up being very good this season.
I will start by saying Heath Bell, Papelbon and Andrew Bailey were among the top closers who moved and only Papelbon has been decent.

Went to see Harvey pitch Fri night and the kid looks legit. Sure he gave up the HR early but going 5 more innings w/out a run was good to see. But MAN, our offense stunk it up that night - my daughter and wife’s first game at Shea2 and we got to see 3 stinking hits. What a horrid team this is.

Well, if nothing else, at least we have filled the catching position for the next 5 years. Now that Shoppach is in the fold, lets go after a long relief pitcher for the rest of the year. Getting Shoppach is as useful as a guy with one day to live getting braces.
Give me a break.
