Rollin Again!

And the Mets are back on one of their winning streaks. Seems like we’re either winning or losing a minimum of 3 straight games.

Johan DOMINATED LA who is coming back to earth after playing so well without Matt Kemp for a surprisingly long time.

Ike Davis just may be the hottest player in baseball. He’s punishing pitching as if he’s making up for all that lost time he was lost at the dish.

We’re now just 2.5 games out of first and BMF is actually starting to believe we can make the postseason…

Big series win and let’s take advantage while the Dodgers are down and get the sweep. We have to take advantage of our home series agains Phillies and Cubs this upcoming week. It’s coming together now!

And how about Matt Harvey. Last start was outstanding. Mets are in position to make a run. One big time reliever pick-up is all i ask. http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?pos=P&sid=t422&t=p_pbp&pid=518774

This is just awesome… July 2nd, 7 games over .500 and only 2.5 games out of 1st place. What could be better than beating Kershaw and sweeping a 4 game road series against the Dodgers. We made it through the devastating June schedule. Playoffs are now a very real destination.

Next 6 series for NL East Divison competitors:

Mets (Phillies, Cubs, @Braves, @Nationals, Dodgers, Nationals)

Nationals (Giants, Rockies, @Marlins, Mets, Braves, @ Mets)

    Braves (Cubs, @Phillies, Mets, Giants, @Nationals, @Marlins)

Once again, this team started to slide and then rebounded. I wish people would stop wondering if a losing streak is “the beginning of the end” for this team. The Mets are who they are, a good, not great team with excellent starting pitching, a solid lineup and an extremely dicey bullpen. It would shock me more if they went into a huge tailspin than it would if they actually made the postseason.

How could David Wright not be the the starting 3rd baseman in the all star game.

I rememb er when this used to be a REAL all star game!

    What a scam!

    ^Seconded.

And I hate this “final vote” bs.
Then again, I want to do my part to keep Harper out of the running…. at least let him play a full season first for chrissake.

And I hate these west coast swings….can’t drown out Buck with the FAN, late start times, etc. etc.

FMFR, I’m not sure how old you are, but fans have been voting in the starters continuously since 1970 (and at various times prior to that) so there have always been ridiculous lineup choices.

Professor, if the purpose of the ASG is to have the best players, then why campaign against Harper. If he’s having the best season, shouldn’t he be there? Last time I checked, it’s not supposed to be a lifetime achievement award.

Meanwhile, the Mets are blowing the chance to sweep with awful fielding. After getting a two-run gift which is almost insurmountable for the pathetic Dodgers lineup these days, they gave it back mostly thanks to Ronny Cedeno not catching Wright’s throw on a DP ball and then Turner booting Gordon’s grounder. Argh!

Thankfully the Mets gave up four more unearned runs in the 7th to put the game out of reach!
