Really nice game to watch on Mother’s Day, except for the fact that Niese keeps putting guys on…hate to think he might be pulled earlier than usual.

Ya know, I talked about this with my son—-who has JUMPED SHIP >:( to root for the Marlins, now that Reyes AND Bell are there —- maybe Reyes in a way was holding David back from truly rising to the top on this team, leadership- and showing-by-example-wise. They give Tuefel a lot of credit, but I also think the youth and energy on the team has given him a sense of his own maturity and talent.

It’s a fun ride, like we’re all saying, and you can’t ask for much more than giving us 9 innings every game, and exceeding expectations.

We owe these guys a beating!…….. How ugly are those orange uniforms!

I hate everything about that team!

    LET’S GO METS!

  4. Irish Mike Says:

I’m not able to watch the game because I’m working but based on the box score do I have this right?:
    - Niese throws six scoreless innings, settling in and getting stronger as the game goes on.
    - TC then decides it would be a good time to pinch hit for his lights out starting pitcher with the worst hitter in baseball (sorry but that is what he is right now) who as expected does not come through.
    - TC now has to bring in some journeyman reliever who quickly pisses away everything Niese did all afternoon
    - and this was all because Niese was about to throw his conveniently round numbered 100th pitch

Way to follow that “book” right off the edge of the cliff TC.

  5. ProfessorReyes Says:

Actually, Irish Mike, there were 2 guys in scoring position, 2 outs, with Niese up next. TC went with PH Davis and he hit it sharply right back to Zambrano. It didn’t work out but I get it.

Niese did a good job but I don’t know if I’d call it lights out. But he was indeed getting the job done with some absolutely stellar plays by the infield.

  6. BlondiesJake Says:

Turner gets the better of Bell AGAIN.
More late runs for this never quit team.
Hopefully the pen holds on today.

  7. Helix Says:

This mutt Francisco is pissin’ me off.

  8. ProfessorReyes Says:

Tichenor has sucked ALL GAME though, seriously bad.
But please show some class and just go off the field with a glare or something… geez.

  9. BlondiesJake Says:

Is it bad if you’re brought in to close and don’t record any outs?

  10. Helix Says:

Thanks for nuthin’ bullpen… great way to help your team.

  11. Irish Mike Says:

So I guess I should feel fortunate that I wasn’t able to watch the game. Wow. A few days ago I said TC needs to get 7+ innings out of his starters. I am now revising that to 9 innings.

  12. Somar Sotominaya Says:

    Whip and ERA:

    Francisco:
    1.98 and 8.56

    Acosta
    2.00 and 9.53

If I were still the Mutts’ GM, I’d give each of these amigos an extension right now!

Did you see how they redistributed wealth from the Mutts to the Marlins in the 9th inning?

    Viva Che Stadium!

  13. Florida Met Fan Rich Says:

Is this what we.spent the little money we had this winter on!

    Our revamped bullpen sucked!

    CLOSER WANTED!

Guerra, Thornton and Holland are all available on the waiver wire in my fantasy baseball league :)

  15. Howard Says:

It is now 8:48 pm… Is FF still on the f**king team? I dont give a crap if they have duda close. Anything but that pathetic joke of a closer.

We should of swept the freakin series. Instead, because of one total joke of a ‘pitcher’, we lose 2of 3.

    FF better be gone soon.
