Mets En Fuego!
Get this — 4 Met pitchers (Big Pelf, Dickey, Parnell and Gee) joined Jeff Wilpon (!) and went through official FDNY training exercises that included fighting real fire!
This KICKS ASS!!!
Ya’ don’t see the Yankees doing this kinda stuff - but they prob wouldnt want to get their white collars dirty and all…
Who’s cooler than the NY Mets???
The FDNY that’s who!!!

That’s a great piece. Notice the Mets didn’t ask their incumbent “fireman,” K-Rod, to help to put out the fire: those guys would have been “toast.”

That was good practice and I’m sure it will come iin handy during the 2011 season, becauce with the pitching staff we have assembled (just added another dumpster diver Tim Byrdak) for this year, we will be putting out more fires than Smokey the Bear!
Where is Fireman Ed when you need him?
J…E…T…S…JETS…JETS…JETS!
P.S. I should have bought my Spring Training seats down by the Mets Bullpen. There are gonna be about 50 players down there! They are gonna need their own hot dog vendor!

That’s pretty damn cool. They should all do that, cause I don’t want to hear any whining from any of them this year. Boohoo, it’s so hard to play games for millions of dollars a year. I don’t think so.

Damn straight FGMF! Maybe they need this to toughen them up! I don’t care how they place in the standings, I just want to see my Mets play some baseball!
BTW, if nobody here watches the Onion SportsDome, watch it… its got great sendups of ESPN including this segment about the Mets-Philthies rivalry… with a twist

That’s a tad bit sick IMHO…but hey, who said comedy was pretty?
But art is indeed imitating life when it comes to Philly fans

Ok, anyone who has worked in emergency services or at least gone Level B for investigating hazardous waste sites knows you have to shave in order to get a good seal and prevent inappropriate inhalation of hazardous air and/ or participates. While these guys on the Mets gained a whole new respect for the FDNY and other services, the same should be said

Hope my house doesn’t catch fire…

I always thought what it would’ve been like to root for the 1962 Mets? Think Thronberry would have done this PR stint?
