Why No Eddie Coleman in Radio Booth?
I can’t figure out for the life of me why Eddie Coleman wasn’t the obvious choice for the open radio position now that Wayne Hagin has moved on.
I actually know Eddie Coleman and he’s a terrific guy. Knows his baseball history and has been in the Met family for years.
I don’t claim to know him well enough to have any insight as to what he thinks about this situation, in fact I haven’t spoken to him in a couple of years but my impression was always that he would gladly take the radio gig.
I don’t know who the F Josh Lewin is but he was raised in Boston and has been doing sports radio in Texas recently so I have to wonder why he got the gig over Eddie.
Of course I have to wonder if the salary for this job has been reduced to an insultingly low level which wouodnt surprise me.
But after the midwestern Hagin didn’t quite fit here in NY why would they go to Texas to get the next guy especially when Eddie Coleman is already in the house???

Living in Texas and watching/hearing Levin on TV here, he will be fine-Good historical knowledge of the game and good broadcaster-Of course I have no idea why not Coleman- I hear him on XM on the MLB channel and like him on his show

13 Days till the Mets report for Spring Training and I can not get excited about this team one bit.
Living in FL, usually this is a time for excitement and hope for the upcoming season but I am just not feeling it for this team.
Lindsey’s baseball preview picks us for last place. The first line is “This team is a Mess!” They are 75/1 to win the world series.
Does anybody else have any hope or any expectations for this team?

FMFR: can’t you adopt your Mr. Sunshine persona as usual until the end of Spring Training, before you go all Debbie Downer on us? Spring Training is where hope lives– it’ll be fun to see how the return of Ike and Johan and all the other mini-dramas play out. Will Torres hit enough to keep that glove in the lineup? Will DW and JB surge in the new mini-Citi? And what about the Duda man?

I know it’s for a good cause: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250988026150
But auctioning off Jose “I’m now a wealthy fish” Reyes dreds is a bit much…
I’d be checking for “D.R. oids”!! Anybody got an extra Mass-Spectrometer lying around?
