Pujols MIA is Sorta Weird
In case you missed it Pujols misplayed a relay throw in the 9th inning of game 2 which allowed St Loo’s impending 2-0 series lead to slip away.
But then it got interesting when Albert was a no show for the post-game press conference and was nowhere to be found in the lockeroom either.
I don’t know what it is about this guy but from where I stand - which is VERY FAR away - it seems like he punked out because they lost and he made an error.
I dunno is it just me or is Pujols less than a stand up ballplayer?
Larussa made a point to stand up for his slugger by saying “No one (in the media) asked for him”.
Of course that makes no sense but not surprising Larussa would protect his player - I mean this guy stood up for Mark McGuire and said he didn’t do steroids.

Pujols made the same, “Nobody asked for me,” statement when meeting the media Friday. What a complete and utter joke. He knows the drill, he decided he would avoid them. It’s his right, but to act like he didn’t know they wanted to get his comments is just laughable.
I did like Jason Motte saying he talked because Jason Isringhausen taught him, “if you can talk to everyone on a day when you strike out the side, you have to face the music on one of those other days.”

I don’t know, I’m tending to believe Pujols was in the kitchen—i.e. he did not leave—for 20 minutes without the team’s PR guy telling him anybody wanted to talk to him. Just naturally suspicious of sports media I guess. I’m not too fond of Albert either, I’m just siding with him on this one.

Pupils didn’t talk to the media? …Blasphemy…what a cancer to the team!
Send him to the METS for punishment!

“Common sense BE GONE! You have no right being here! We don’t take kindly to you in these parts! ”
Spoken like a true liberal.
Here I am, offering opinions consistently more logical and more informed than yours and you hate that.
“You have no right being here”
This is so funny!

ProfessorReyes, you must be joking. Pujols is always asked questions after games. The fact he made a crucial error means there’s no doubt reporters would be waiting to speak to him. Acting as though somebody needed to specifically come and tell him they were waiting is hilarious.
Common Sense, of course he’s not under any obligation. But he knows how the system works and I’m willing to bet he’s always available when everything goes well. And even if it was just a miscommunication, which as I just pointed out is ludicrous, the cover up is just terrible.
