Reyes .001 Point off Pace
Super quickie post today - but Jose stayed 1 percentage point behind Braun with each going 1-5.
C’mon Jose give us something to be happy … Pleeze!

ProfessorReyes: Likely that the Phillie pitchers will be on strict pitch counts in their last starts of the regular season. Cards will be battling for their wild card lives.

While it would be nice for Reyes to win the batting crown, what difference would it make, really? Is that going to make anything better? Will we look back on this season and say, “Hey, it wasn’t that bad, Reyes batted .336 and won the batting title!”
They had the chance to finish the season at .500 but the last homestand nixed that. Since .500 isn’t an option anymore, I say just put out every player out there see what he can do and take serious notes on who will be here next yer and who will not. Wins and losses don’t matter to us now.

Met_Maven, while I agree with you 100% and there really is no difference if Reyes wins or not. But it would be nice for a Met to get the title for once, just cause it hasn’t happened ever. But, in the end, I guess its fruitless…

If Reyes wins the batting crown, does it become harder for the Mets to sign him?

And more importantly, if he wins the batting crown, is he eligible for the Grand Supreme Title?

No but he gets a Burrito Supreme from Taco Bell

It would be nice if a Met won. But, at the end of the day, Skanks clinch a post-season spot again and we’ll probably be 10 games under .500.
For the Skanks, it’ll be October baseball. For the Mets, it’s “Jose Reyes Month”. Which basically means, letting go of Reyes will be a slow, drawn out process that in the end makes it look like Sandy made an effort & that the decision to leave was all Reyes’s. Which will probably be easier for us fans to digest.
