Since slaughtering the Rangers and Tigers for 52 runs in 4 games, the Mets have racked up 8 runs in the last 4 and are making Rubby de la Rosa look like Cy Young through three innings. As Casey said, “Amazin’ Amazin’ Amazin’”

After what happened last year, for Bay to go back and not flinch and make the catch as he reached the wall on Miles’ fly ball tells me the guy has serious cojones.

Parnell is in one of his grooves and hitting 100+ on the gun. TC needs to throw out his book (which thank God is much smaller than Jerry Manuel’s) and bring him back for the 8th rather than bring in 53 year old Jason Isringhausen.

Then again is K-Rod available after his two inning stint yesterday or is Isringhausen our closer?

IM, I was actually just thinking bigger picture. Since returning from his numbness issue in late May, Parnell has pitched nearly 15 innings, given up a mere two runs and struck out 16 while consistently hitting high 90s if not triple digits. How about moving Isringhausen to the 7th and let Parnell start pitching the 8th and see how it works out for the forseeable future?

As for tonight, of course I’m in agreement, especially since K-Rod might not even be available.

You gotta love this team! And Parnell is back to pitch the 8th…
