Pelf Back to Big

I think it’s official - Big Pelf is back to Big again.

It was rough sledding in the early season but Pelfrey has worked hard to get back to last year’s form.

Last night’s final line was 1R, 5H, 5K, 0BB in 9IP. My favorite stat is the ZERO walks. In fact Pelf hasn’t walked a batter in THREE GAMES!

The guy has just been pounding the strike zone and watching him close out the game was a testament to both his determination and Collin’s old skoolness as a skipper.

Pelf had 95 pitches after 7 so I thought he might not return for the 8th, but he did. That inning cost him 13 more pitches but Collins let him start the 9th.

Even after Turner booted what should’ve been the final out Collins let him stay in till the end which happened to come 1 pitch later.

Quick Hits:

• We’re back to within 1 game of .500 again.

• Bay collected 2 more hits

• Beltran obliterated a ball depositing it on the Shea Bridge

• Pagan is off and running swiping another bag

^what BMF said. CG is just what the doctor ordered for Pelfrey, work it out!
    Thank you Terry, thank you.

What a poke from Beltran!! I sure will miss him.

OK….we have righted the ship once again!….Seems lika a major hurdle to get past the .500 mark for this team!

So can I “officially” bring my “GO BIG PELF” shirt out of mothballs?…I’m no totally as sold on him as BMF is!

    Next stop .500 ….AGAIN!

Bottom line is that we are only 3.5 games out of the WC on June 19th with a really good winning streak in our future if the starting rotation can maintain their superior outings. It is time for us to finally get past .500 and make a strong move. I expect a great start from Niese today and then at least 2 of 3 if not a sweep against the A’s.

    Let’s finally make our move!

    Let’s Go Mets!

I’m not as completely sold as BMF on Big Pelf as we’ve seen this act before. I hope, just not completely sold. Let’s get the series win today and then win or sweep the Oakland series, because the next three series are brutal… Tigers,Rangers, and Stanks. Yikes!

Pelf is streaky, he’ll drop a bunch of games or mentally unravel for no reason, then, out of nowhere, he’ll pitch lights out. Lets enjoy the good stretch while we can! :-)

Does anyone know how long the Shea bridge will be closed with all the damage done from Beltrans BOMB! Damn, that was a shot!

Happy birthday to all the dad out there today! I’m taking my pop to the game and treating him to the Acela club… hope to see Niese pitch a gem today!

The Mets are about to reach “The Magical .500 Mark” (Quoted from a 1992 Suzyn Waldman yankee report).
