Wags Sez Pagan is a Superstar?

How bout Billy Da Kid giving Angel Pagan TONS of love by proclaiming he could be a “superstar”?!?

Wags also said Barajas was a great acquisition for the Mets and Bay would be fine so long as he hit .325 with 40HR  - Hah! That’s so accurate is depressing.

But the Pagan comment surprised me. I like Pagan a lot - a real lot. I think he’s been fantastic in all aspects of the game aside from those all too frequent baserunning mistakes.

Luckily baserunning is probably the easiest skill to learn - at least when you’re talking about hitting and defense.

Solid, very good, maybe even great … but superstar seems like a bit of a reach.

But I’m confident he’ll do a great job filling in for Beltran and he’ll probably prove himself worthy of a starting job by the time Carlos gets back.

Too bad for him he’ll need an injury to start on the Mets beyond May. But a 4th OF who should be starting is a good problem to have.

4 Errors yesterday! - “Can’t anybody here play this game?”

  2. Matt the Met Fan Says:

whats up with Reyes’ blood work?

  3. Florida Met Fan Rich Says:

Wags is setting himself up for his next job when he retires-PLAYERS AGENT…

C’mon BMF-Solid and very good-”at best” GREAT???…Get back on the medication you stpped taking!!!

If he is so good…why can’t even start in our outfield?….Does that mean that Francoeur is a superstar because Pagan can’t beat him out?

P.S. About my first post I forgot to mention all 4 errors were in One inning!

  4. El Duderino Says:

    Fundies… where are my fundies???

  5. BlondiesJake Says:

Baserunning is instinct, not something you learn easily. I like Pagan but I don’t see those mistakes changing.

    LET’S GO METS!
PAGAN IS FINE AS AN EXTRA OUTFIELDER!
    MAYBE REYES IS A VAMPIRE!

  6. USMF Says:

Wags was also the grooming Kunz to be the next great closer, so we all know how much talent evaluation skills Wags has…

Lets not forget all holes in very aspect in Pagans game…the base running blunders make the highlight reels, but he is a streaky hitter and will looks very bad at times and his instincts in the field are very questionable too…Pagan isn’t even up to Jay Payton standards…

It seems like Fans (acceptable) and Mets Management (Much less acceptable) get overly excited when a player puts up decent numbers for a short time period…Let’s not get our hopes up on anybody until the actually prove themselves for a full year or two. Pagan, Neise, Davis, Murphy and Parnell have a long way to go before they prove they are MLB caliber players. Two months, or five starts don’t make a All Star.

And what a surprise, minor league players committed errors in the 2nd ST game of the year while playing on a Disney maintained field…

  7. Sam in North Cakalakey Says:

Damn it feels good to hear that SNY music again.

  8. Lord Charles Says:

DWright with a homerun in his first AB is about the best thing a Mets’ fan could ask for!

  9. Toby the Met Mascot Dog Says:

Thats it!!!!…We lose one Spring Training Game and I’m out!!

You let that homless dog Emma from the hood stay on for months!!

Now you got some homely looking mutt with a dumpster diving hat on from the slums of Broward ugly sticking the BMF page…

BMF: How low can you go?

Toby your EX MET DOG MASCOT!

  10. Florida Met fan Rich Says:

METS WIN!!… by A touchdown and a missed extra point

Tobester you’re in the minors now. When you get to Buffalo meet me at the anchor for some beer & wings. Look at it this; at least you had a few good days in the bigs.

  13. Toby the Met Mascot Dog Says:

Emma me and you are gonna be liv’in large in Bisonville (AAA)..

Hope the beers cold my wings hot the same way I like my “dogets”

Lets run up a hugh tab and leave for that cheap Bast**d BMF to pay it!

He wouldn’t know talent, if it was his middlle name!

Nice dog BMF Sammy the “Mutt” fan!.. Yuk!

  14. BlondiesJake Says:

Tobester, be thankful the only thing that has happened since you were the Met Pet of the Week has been that you were replaced. As far as I can tell, BMF had a dog pass away and we had both our cats head to the big litter box in the sky after being featured in that section!
