3 in a Row!

Don’t look now but the Mets are suddenly winning games. The team is now 3-0 with Jason Bay in the lineup and the LF’er was a  primary reason for Saturday’s win going 2-4 with a HR and 3 RBI.

I had written Bay off so long ago I almost forgot the potential he has.

The Mets collected 15 hits and scored all their runs with 2 out.  Very impressive stats for the normally inept NY Mets.

Dillon Gee continues to impress allowing 4R, 2ER, 5H, 1BB, 5K in 6 IP. The kid deserves to stay in the rotation but you gotta figure he’s heading back down until we get another injury in the ro’.

K-Rod is definitely making in-roads with the fans by successfully closing out another game. It’s always a high-wire act with Francisco but with each save the fans get further behind him.

Can we get a sweep on Sunday… Pleeeze?

There’s been so much negativity but suddenly now it appears that when Reyes, Murphy, Wright, Beltran, Bay, and Davis are all clicking, this is a pretty potent lineup afterall! And if they continue to get solid pitching, this is the laughing stock of a team everyone wants them to be.

Let’s see if we can A. Stay Healthy and B. Win against some stiffer competition

I worry it’s only a matter of time before Beltran’s arthritic knees start slowing him down. I’m sure Harris will get the start today.

Very impressed with the start Ike is off to & those tape measure home runs!!

    Let’s go Mets!!!

Still being cautious about this beacause it is the D-Backs but how nice would it be SWEEP!

It would also mean a “Winning Homestand”, yes I know it was the Astros and the D-Backs, but we need to start somewhere!

I would also like to think that we can head out to D.C. and take care of the Nats, while we are rolling!

    LETS GO METS!!!!…KEEP IT UP!!!

FMFR - I hear ya…but, it does look like we may’ve found a nice winning formula early on: a quality start, then Beato to Izzy to K-ROD.

Beato has been a pleasant surprise. And Izzy’s been so impressive someone oughta test that guy for some PEDs :) K-ROD’s got some nice bite on the curve ball again and, he’s getting over for strikes.

The Wilpons may have $$ issues and yes, we got off to a lousy start. But, that doesn’t mean we have to be the whipping boys of the NL. We should sweep the DBs…our lineup out classes theirs, we have more talent. We are playing well and the pitching matchup is in our favor in my opinion.

So, let’s keep the momentum going and SWEEP’M!!

Go José! Just giving big love for José here,
besides big pats on the back for the homers.

    Let’s Go Mets!

Who would have bet a month ago that Beltran would be the guy in our OF that hasn’t hit the DL?

I really believe that New Shea is easier to hit HR’s than it looks…If have to hit high line drives to LF, if you try to hit Moon Shots there, the ball seems to get knocked down…From Center to Right Center in to the bull pen (and Shea Bridge), the ball does seem to carry pretty well…RF you have to hit the Moon Shots to get it over the Mo-Zone…and there are some “Cheep” HRs down each line.

I really think that most players see the deep high walls and think they have to over swing and hit them high…and RH hitters give up on Right Center field which I think it’s a mistake and the Rh hitters go for Moon Shots to left and the wind seems to knock those balls down.

If you look at Sh!ty-F!elds history…LH bats have been able to hit HR’s iof they go for the RC gap…sadly, until last year when Ike came around. Our on LH HR threat was Murphy. It’s the RH hitters who get completely thrown off and start bad habits.

And I’m not saying that Bay didn’t have a down year…but other than the drop in HR’s and OBP, he was still on pace to hit +90RBI and bat near it average. And you can’t argue with the Bay effect on Wright.

    What’d I say…High Line drives…

  8. USMF Says:

Who said that the Right Center gap is a good spot for LH hitters?

oh yeah…I was right again! :)

  9. USMF Says:

What was that about cheep HR’s down the line?

Can the Mets play the D’Backs every game?

Great game today, the boys really needed this! 4-2 on the homestand and off to DC & Philthy. I can see them having at least a .500 road trip. The Mets are finally doing what they should do, beat up on crappy teams… Happy Easter to those who celebrate, and happy Mets Sweep/Winning streak to all!

    LET’S GO METS GO!

The resurrection of our Mets! On Easter Sunday, how appropo!!

What a turnaround. Team is looking pretty good.

When Pagan returns, does Murphy stay in the 2 hole?

Surprised Beltran started today, thought for sure Collins would get his knees 2 days of rest.

Looks like Gee is staying with the club for now. Carasco has not looked good…I thought Sandy was a little premature on Eamus but so far, its paid off we are definitely getting better production out of 2B since. He’s sending the message early that players who perform will play and those who dont, well….kinda liking it!
