Phew - Mets Get a W

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - BMF is trying my best to let every single loss slide off my back this year. Things are too ugly to get emotionally invested in every single game.

It’s too much punishment for a sane person to endure. So I’m attempting to rise above the anguish inducing losses. I expect to lose a lot this season - although certainly not THIS bad - so I’ve been mentally preparing for this.

But the big Phew surrounding Sunday’s win likely came from the Wilponzi Mansion. Hey the fans were already chanting “SELL-THE-TEAM, SELL-THE-TEAM” last Thursday so imagine how much vitriol would start being directed at ownership if they returned home after being swept out of ATL as well.

Still what’s the mood  gonna be of the 18K or so folks who will troop out to CityField for Tuesday’s game?

Not very friendly to Fred and Jeff that’s for sure.

*** Meanwhile Dillon Gee looks pretty damn good out there. I dont know why Gee remains so under the radar but personally I always forget about him

Apathy is way worse than anger from the fans for the Wilpons. What I am seeing right now is the most apathetic period ever for the Mets franchise. Even during the late 70’s and early 80’s the Mets were always a lovable bunch of losers. Right now they are just losers. High ticket prices, the cost of parking/concessions, overpaid athletes, high expectations, low results……….all have sucked the lifeblood from most fans these days. And who can blame any of them?? Not me. The Wilpons will sell eventually…..not because of outraged fans, if fans are outraged that means they still care…….they will be forced to sell because of apathy!! That’s what is going on right now…….no one cares any more and that is way, way worse than any negative emotion(hate, anger, disappointment, jealousy) a fan could have. The end is near for Fred and Jeff!!

OK we finally got of the schnide! If we want to have any chance of righting this ship, just for some respect we need to make some hay on this homestand.

We have the Astros and the D-backs coming in and they both suck as much as we do! Hopefully we can win 5 out of 6 and get back on track!

Let’s see… Extraordinary measures just to eke out a win in April and avoid another sweep. Smells a lot like fear & desperation to me.

At this point, I feel more like a voyeur watching a slo-mo train wreck.

    Sad really…

I agree, Buck, once the Wilponzies are out of the way maybe we can expect some moves from management that make sense.

I know everyone feels that we won’t resign Reyes, but I feel that we have to because of the message letting him go will send to guys like IKE.

Yes, the win was nice, but KROD had to make us sweat again…but I’m not complaining…

Dusting off my Met hats to get ready for my season debut at the friendly confines of CitiField…hopefully, this week…

    LET’S GO METS !!!

  5. Buck Says:

Dan….I agree with you also. We must re-sign Reyes!!

  6. Howard Says:

Lets give some props to Dillon Gee. Great outing under adverse circumstances. We need to get some stability in the rotation before the season is shot. I will give Pelphrey one more shot to to right his ship or I want him out of the rotation.

Our next three series are with Houston AZ, and Washington, a chance reclaim the season.

    Lets go Mets!

All I have to say is: thank you Dillon Gee and thank you Brandon Dubinsky!! I don’t know about you, but I was pretty much done in with NY sports after a week of nine straight Mets and Ranger losses. I was getting a little cranky around the family, if you know what I mean. And if I had had to sit there and watch the Knicks lose, virtually at the buzzer, without having had that booster of an afternoon of dueling Mets/Rangers wins, I don’t know if I could have taken it. Anyway. I’m all better now.
Desperate or not, I love Collins going for it with his SP’s out of the pen. Reyes. Thole and Ike are all looking good. Emaus needs to get it going. K-Rod always gives me agita.

  8. foxster Says:

i think that Oliver Hardy said it best when speaking to his friend Stanley “This is another fine mess you got us in to” now Ollie wasn’t talking about the NY Mets, but if the shoe fits ………………!

  9. cleonjones Says:

Hey a win is a win !!! Lets go Mets !!!! The media is ramping up the Mets will trade Reyes story. Found another article about it on Foxsports website.

  10. Cowcrusher Says:

    Blast the ’stros and snakes!
Send pelfrey down to Buf for week or two so he can get his head out of the “case”.
Keep reyes (as long as he is healthy).
Adding another line so BJake can’t say I’m bogartting his 3 line sign-off;]

“At this point, I feel more like a voyeur watching a slo-mo train wreck. ”

The train wreck occurred in 2007 and 2008 when Senor Minaya was chief engineer and Gangsta was his conductor.

What remains is a pile of smoldering ashes Fred and Jeff think is a train.

“Dan….I agree with you also. We must re-sign Reyes!! ”

We must trade this brittle dog now while his stock is artificially high. We are always just one mystery cramp away from the DL with this guy.

    “K-Rod always gives me agita.”

Agita! I should be so lucky to only get agita from that guy.

    Anyone seen my teeth?
