Collins Kicks Ass!

Monday, April 30th, 2012

Sunday’s game was merely more evidence Terry Collins is the MF’n man. If you’re a Met fan I don’t know how you can’t believe in Terry Collins.

Not only do his guys play hard for him, they Win.

With a year under his belt TC has a team full of gritty ball players who believe in themselves.

To watch them give back a 4-0 lead on 1 grand slam swing and then to watch another lead in the 10th evaporate and score again in the 11th shows a whole buncha no quit.

Nieuwenheis CANNOT SIT now that Torres is back. I don’t care about veteran status, or financial investment - Nieuwe has proved he needs to be playing every day.

Johan was robbed AGAIN today. There seems to be an epidemic fantastic starts getting blown by the pen. Maybe it’s just the Mets and  my fantasy team.

Looks like Ike is back! A 3-6 day and the game winner … smells like Ike is about to GO OFF … I’m just sayin’…

No Losing Streak

Sunday, April 29th, 2012

One thing about these Mets is they seem to have an aversion to losing streaks. Almost every time there’s a loss the team bounces immed back with a win.

Monday’s Twin Bill sweep not withstanding, the Mets held true to form bouncing back from Fri nite’s loss to top the Rox 7-5.

To me the hi-lite of the game was Lucas Duda who collected 2 hits, and 4 RBI while blasting his 4th bomb on the year. And Duda would’ve had 2 more ribbies were it not for the Rockies CF Fowler making a great shoestring.

The Rockies are a fairly unimpressive team but if we can get a road series win that’s an accomplishment no matter who you play.

Torres is back on Mon… Stay tuned for an impending roster move and decision  re: Nieuwenheis… Kirk might want to have a big game Sun…

Old Skool Coors Farce

Saturday, April 28th, 2012

Sometimes Coors Field is fun but last night was the kind of game that makes you hate that place. We got our asses kicked in 18-9 and had the pleasure of witnessing 6 Met errors, including 4 in one inning, a 2 out 4 run rally  in the top of the 5th before an 11 run onslaught against us in the bottom of the frame.

On the plus side Scott Hairston hit for the cycle. But when his final AB ended in a swinging strike 3 it occurred to me Baseball has a funny way of humbling you even when you just Cycled.

So far it doesn’t look like Craig Schwinden is the guy to replace Big Pelf… but Coors Field isn’t a fair test.

We were due for a bad loss - gotta let it slide and get ‘em tomm.
