Johan! Tebow! Johan! Tebow!

Thursday, March 22nd, 2012

Wow it was a BIG day to be a Met/Jet fan as Santana suddenly, and arguably miraculously, roared back to ace like stature firing 6 stellar innings vs the Cards.

I still find it hard to believe Johan can be a dominant pitcher again but after today I think anything is possible.

Conceptually Tim Tebow isn’t a guy I would root for. A squeaky clean God warrior isn’t generally my cup if tea but I found myself tuning in and rooting for him like crazy. Turns out I love him… As a Bronco.

As a Jet I’m not so sure. I believe in Sanchez. Last year he was still a young QB and deserves more time to develop. Tebow looming behind him can either be highly detrimental to Mark’s psyche or the competition could prove to be a good motivation tool.

I really just don’t know what to make of the Jets… Other than they’ll definitely be doing another Hard Knocks on the Jets come August.

Shutout!

How ’bout a spring shutout to help cure some blues associated with being the Grapefruit league’s last  place team.

I’m living Dillon Gee’s extended weird beard. Its a ridiculous looking patch if hair but Gee needed some swagger so BMF is all for it.

Torres is now day to day with a pulled calf and if thats the case why dont we throw Jordany Valdespin out there and see what happens.

The kids is supposed to have some real speed and talent so lets give him a chance to prove he belongs.

After all the last guy I want in CF is Jason Bay.

So apparently Wilponzi sold twelve 4% ownership shares at 20M per, but he also admitted SNY bought 4 if those shares so that’s 16% or the team they just retained.

Depressing because I was really hoping for some Wilponzi news to be going the other direction…

Wilponzi’s “Inbezzled” Money - BMF Heartbroken over Settlement

Tuesday, March 20th, 2012

I was crestfallen when I first got news the Wilpons settled the clawback lawsuit and now suddenly were locked in to remain owners of the Mets forever.

According to Fatcessa the Met owners comprised about half of the silent investors who bought a total of twelve 20M dollar shares.

This was because they couldn’t legally use money from any other business to support the Mets during this entire debacle so they “inbezzled” their own money into their own baseball team.

I don’t know if any of that is true, nor do I know how that fat pig Francessa would know any of this but it sure does make sense.

Personally I’m heartbroken because I know this ensures that Rich Rich Jeffy Boy Wilpon will eventually take full control of the franchise. And once Fred is dead and buried there will be no safety net to protect us all from Jeffy Boy getting involved again in player personnel decisions.

I’m convinced he’ll try and be Jerry Jones only he doesn’t have any of Jerry Jones’ intellect, moxie, or savviness.

I really fear the day when Fred passes away.

Mets in Spring Last Place

Monday, March 19th, 2012

While its true you can’t put too much stock in spring training wins and losses there are certain years when BMF feels its more important to win Grapefruit games than others.

If you’re a quality playoff caliber team heading into the season you can easily shake off a bad spring record and turn the engine over when the regular season bell rings.

But when you’re a team that’s rebuilding, or a franchise thats been stripped like the Mets it becomes important to “learn to win” in spring.

We’re currently the worst team in baseball with a 3-11 record..

I’d be great if we can start stringing some W’s together and avoid getting our asses kicked the entire spring.

We need confidence and we need to believe we can win if we’re going to make any noise at all.

Reyes!

Friday, March 16th, 2012

This is going to be a brutal season watching Jose play for the Fish and AGAINST us. Maybe my heart will change but I cant see myself rooting against Jose… EVER.

I guess it’s tied into a deeper hatred of our pathetic and incompetent ownership group who couldn’t run an honest enough business to be able to afford arguably the best player in the game when he wanted to be a Met… at least until Fred ruined that with the magazine article.

An early, rainy exhibition game is one thing, regular season will be the real test of emotions.

TC said he spoke to Reyes before the game and was asked about Wright by the ex-Met. Terry “thought it was real cool that he asked about him”

HUH???

Of course he’s gonna ask about his injured buddy. I would be shocked if he didnt.

Matt Harvey went down, Val Pascucci too. This poor bastard Pacucci may never sniff the Bigs again yet everyone I know roots for the guy.

Matt Harvey… how good can this kid be? Collins said he’ll never use out of pen (which I fully support) but there’s already talk he could come up as soon as someone goes down. He might surprise but its not fair to expect anything more than growing pains if the kid does make it to the show this year…

Which in a rebuilding year ain’t so bad.
