I knocked RA a couple weeks back saying the “lightening was out of the bottle” but then he looked good again. Too bad we just lost him with a bizarre heel injury that seemed to come out of nowhere. 

He felt a burning sensation in his heel but the Mets don’t think he’s got a torn ACL. Hmmmmm sorta sounds like something tore but what the Hell do I know. Guess we need to wait and see…

It’d be a shame to lose him but it would be a sustainable loss.

Pedro Beato took the ball the moment Dickey limped off and although Beato got knocked around BMF remains unconcerned.  Beato is a Rule5 guy and Rule5 guys don’t go all season without giving up runs. 

Plus he’s gotta face adversity to grow so why not let him get it out of his system now.

Pagan is back and boy do we need him. I trust Angel can get back to last year’s groove and I’m much more motivated to watch him as opposed to Pridie.

More specifically 2/3rds of the Hit list struck back as Beltran and Reyes each collected 2 hits with Carlos “60-70%” Beltran doubling, tripling, driving in 2 and scoring twice.

Someone in the Met clubhouse should post that NY’er article in Jose, Carlos and David’s lockers.

Man I wish Wright was on the field to take his revenge cuts too.

Meanwhile never mind it was a rain shortened 7 inning win THAT was a big W.

After Dillon Gee surrendered 4 in the first it looked as though the Met Meltdown was gonna swamp us for another day until miraculously the Mets rose from the dead and kicked some ass.
 
I thought it was shower time for Gee but the kid gets major props for bouncing back and not allowing another run in more frames.

Sure that back-to-back-to-back-12-straight-pitch-mega-walk gave us the lead but I’ll take it in a minute when SOMEONE ELSE is snake bitten.

But the most bizarre moment was when Cubs skipper went bonkers about the tarp being put on…??? 

Wha–? I’ve never seen that before.

Does anyone else get the feeling the bottom is about to drop out of the Met season?

I sure do.

Right on cue, as soon as Wilpon throws his own team under the bus (or when news broke) the Mets go belly up suffering their worst loss of the year. An embarrassing display that saw the Cubs bat around twice, the Mets play crappy defense and Bay leave with a sore calf.

Yes the team is still loaded with backups and AAA guys but last nite just had an ominous feel.

I don’t think there’s anyway this performance wasn’t a direct result of Wilpon’s comments. Everyone can deny, deny, deny but there is NO POSSIBLE WAY that the owners inexplicable comments didn’t dominate the entire teams conversations and personal thoughts. 

I know they’re professionals but the team felt deflated and I don’t blame them. They’re used to the media and fans killing them but now they’re taking friendly fire from the owner???

I had to laugh to myself imagining the reaction Alderson and Collins had upon hearing Wilpon’s moronic missives. They must’ve been flabbergasted. These poor bastards had no idea what they were getting themselves into when they accepted these jobs. This is the NY Mets fellas where normal rules don’t apply and even the owner isn’t above sabotaging his own team. 

I wouldn’t be surprised if Sandy called Selig and reneged on this whole deal.  

Oh, but the hits keep on coming on Fred’s media tour as he tells Sports Illustrated that the Mets “Are bleeding 70M a year” 

Does that sound like a team thinking about resigning Jose Reyes?
